A lifelong Gloucester resident, Andrew “Dru” Tarr represents the 5th Essex District, which includes Gloucester, Rockport, Essex, and Manchester-by-the-Sea.
Before being elected State Representative, Dru spent nearly a decade serving the people of Cape Ann in the office of Representative Ann-Margaret Ferrante. Beginning as a legislative aide and later serving as research and district director, he worked directly with residents, local officials, community organizations, and state agencies to address constituent needs and advance the Cape Ann’s priorities.
That experience taught Dru that effective representation begins with showing up, listening, and doing the work necessary to deliver results. Whether helping an individual navigate a state agency, advocating for a local organization, or working to secure funding for a community project, Dru approaches public service with persistence and a commitment to ensuring the Cape Ann has a voice on Beacon Hill.
