Representatives from the state, city and a local nonprofit took a tour of the O’Maley Innovation Middle School’s Science Central to see the education Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr-R Gloucester, is advocating for statewide.
Science Central is composed of five laboratory and workshop spaces where middle schoolers, and occasionally elementary school pupils, get the opportunity to learn and explore science, technology, engineering, math and more using industry standard equipment.
The group, including Sen. Tarr, state Rep. Dru Tarr, D-Gloucester, members of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center and the Gloucester Education Foundation and several local and school officials, witnessed fourth graders from West Parish Elementary School work in the lab.
